PHE (2016) Public Mental Health Promotion and Prevention Training Programme

One of Public Health England’s (PHE) key priorities is to improve the population’s mental health, well-being and prevent mental illness and suicide.

Both The NHS Five Year Forward View for Mental Health (2016)  and Public Mental Health Leadership and Workforce Development Framework (2015) recommended that  NHS staff required training to increase their skills, expertise, knowledge  and confidence in this field.

As a direct result Public Health England and Health Education England (2016) published this resource which is a collation of emerging practice examples of mental health promotion and prevention training programmes available in England. PABBS suicide bereavement is highlighted in this document on page 5 and 46-48
